Terre Nere Montalcino

A peculiarity of minerals and dark soil found in Montalcino because of the proximity of the Amiata volcano which has been extinct for millions of years.

Terre Nere covers an area of 15 hectares, south/ south-east, of Montalcino. The 10 ha of vines, in the locality of Castelnuovo dell’Abate, are on the slope on the top of which stands the Castello della Velona.
The 9 ha of Sangiovese and 1 ha of Cabernet Sauvignon are trained on the spurred cordon system with a consistency of about 4500 vines per hectare. They they are planted in an area of exquisite beauty, surrounded by unspoiled woods, with a an ideal microclimate for growing grapes.
